Cruelly, I began to appreciate wine after I moved to India. In Manhattan, I lived a block away from the 67th Street wine store. During vacations, we drove through Sonoma and Napa. I sipped and slurped but nothing major then. It is hard to find good wine in India, and arguably, wine is not the best beverage for a hot, tropical country. Nevertheless, there are many wine aficionados here in India and a thriving “scene” with wine clubs and societies. Here are some of my wine stories.
