Travel + Leisure’s It List — the hospitality world’s most coveted annual seal of approval — has just dropped its 2026 edition. Culled from nearly 250 properties across 40 countries, only 100 make the cut: the best new and renovated hotels on the planet.

Below is the text version of the above:

Mharo Khet, Jodhpur, Rajasthan India

This 40-acre farmstay outside Jodhpur, takes elements of an Indian childhood and elevates them into singular guest experiences. On my first morning, I sat under a spectacular Rohida tree and had the best head massage of my life, given by a kurta-clad village barber. Dinner that night was in the midst of a guava orchard with fragrant blooms and a rising full moon.  The nine-course degustation menu, much like all the food in the farmstay, is made with ingredients grown on the property.  The food at the resort is vegetarian except for eggs, but exceptionally flavorful, rooted in the region but global in cooking style. The cocktails are generously poured, and made with lemons and herbs grown on the property. Those inclined can mix drinks with the friendly bartender.  Owners Rajnush and Vedika Agarwal trained in the US and the UK, and travelled across the world before opening the resort in October 2025. Their design sensibility is both simple and layered, much like traditional village homes. The ten spare villas in hues of vermilion and white are named after Indian ragas (tunes). At over 2000 feet, each villa is bigger than a New York studio. Each contains a living room, spacious bathroom with two sinks, and a bedroom with an outdoor verandah to sit and have a drink in the evening. Guests can have sound healing sessions, learn Rajasthani recipes in the kitchen, visit local woodworking studios, or have potters come on site for lessons. Most end up lounging in the pool in the late afternoon sunshine. All areas of the farmstay are accessible. Mharo Khet means “our farm” in the local Marwadi language. After a few hours on this property sans Indian crowds, you’ll be forgiven for believing it actually is.

Doubles from $580 in the winter season. $325 in the summer.
